Be able to contribute to planning learning activities

Case Study

You have worked with the class teacher to plan a literacy session to introduce Shakespeare. The planned video is longer than the teacher remembers and the class are getting restless. The teacher decides to turn the video off and wants to adapt the plan. She asks you to take a group of eight pupils and to ‘bring Shakespeare to life for them’!
  1. How will you fulfil this brief?
  2. During the review of the lesson what might you want to say about the planning process?
  3. How will you contribute to the plan for the next lesson?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
