Case Study

Mr Jones has recently left hospital following a stroke and he has now identified his goals for regaining his independence.Mr Jones specifically wants to be able to wash his upper body, brush his teeth and dress himself. Once he has nearly achieved all of this, his care worker begins talking to him about his next goals.Mr Jones has been receiving meals on wheels but he doesn't really like the food and feels restricted by the choices on offer, as well as the delivery time.
  1. What would you do to help Mr Jones remain independent and have meals that he likes, at times convenient for him?

It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong.
