Be able to reflect on own work activities

Case Study

Alison is working towards her Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young People’s Workforce and is trying to reflect on her practice. She believes she is an excellent practitioner and bases her judgements on 2 things: a) No-one has ever complained about her practice b) Her mum told her she’d be good with children.
  1. Is Alison right to make her judgements on this basis?
  2. How else might she make her judgements?
  3. What could she judge her practice against?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your assessor.
