Case Study
Jeremy is a 26 year old man with moderate learning disabilities and he lives in supported housing where a team of care staff are available 24 hours a day to support him. The team look after Jeremy and make sure he is kept safe. As part of his plan the staff prepare his meals; they also share his meals to make the meals a social occasion and to help Jeremy learn skills such as sitting at the table, eating his meals using cutlery, and taking part in conversations etc. The staff team do his shopping and as they are mostly vegetarian they buy and cook vegetarian meals for Jeremy. However, Jeremy is not a vegetarian.

It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
