Mario has severe learning disabilities, is 30 years old and has difficulty communicating in any way. One of your colleagues, Nora, has started using children’s books to read to him, she says that he really likes the Mr Men books. She has also started using a very childish way of speaking to Mario, telling him ‘he is her little boy’ and using baby phrases when talking to him. You decide you need to talk to Nora and discuss the way she talks to Mario.
