Case Study

Ella is 4 years old and has a number of food allergies. The most significant are nuts, including nut oil, milk and eggs. Another child, Layla, has coconut oil applied to her hair each day and Ella’s parents are concerned that Ella will react to this. Your dilemma is that Layla is of African origin and her hair requires oil to make it manageable.
- How will you address this issue?
- Write a care plan for Ella, outlining the considerations staff will make when doing a cooking session for the children.
