Be able to evaluate own practice in delivering inclusive teaching and learning

Case Study

Kiera, a 19-year old student in Mr Cuevo’s class is becoming quite disruptive, she always has to be the one who is heard during discussions, makes fun of others, and rarely takes an active or constructive part during activities. If you were Mr Cuevo:
  1. How might you find what is causing this disruptive behaviour?
  2. How would you adapt your plans to encourage her to be more involved?
  3. How might speaking to colleagues help you?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
