Research information on behaviour strategies. You could start by searching on the internet for the following phrases:
Find and read 'How to manage children's challenging behaviour' by Dr Bill Rogers, published by SAGE Publications Ltd.N.B. You should be able to find a copy at your local library service.
Lead a staff training session on promoting positive behaviour. During the training session lead a discussion on the way in which your setting promotes positive behaviour and how you deal with unwanted behaviour.
Seek agreement from your colleagues on the behaviour management strategies that are already in place at your setting, or that you think should be implemented.
Review your behaviour policy. Make sure that staff have clear guidance on dealing with unwanted behaviour and that the role of parents is given due consideration.
'Creating a culture; How school leaders can optimise behaviour' is an independent review of behaviour in schools by Tom Bennett.
