Case Study
You have been asked to start keeping a record of the minutes of group meetings. The person who used to make them has left, and all you have to work with are copies of old minutes.
You see that the minutes are very jumbled up, and it is hard to see details of decisions made and actions to be taken.
Group meetings take place every month
- How can you make the minutes easier to read, without having to spend hours on the task?
- What software packages could you use to produce the minutes?
- How could you find out about different formats for minutes?
- How can you review the benefits and drawbacks of using different IT tools to produce the minutes?
- How can you test your solutions to make sure they work as intended.
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
