Know about potential signs and behavioural changes that could cause concern

Case Study

Sahra, one of the young people you are working with, was happily telling you two weeks ago that she had a new boyfriend called James. However, her friends have told you that she only ever talks to James on the internet and has never met him. Yesterday, one of her friends mentioned that James and Sahra were going to meet up this weekend at his house.
  1. Do you think there is any cause for concern in James and Sahra’s relationship?
  2. If you had concerns, whom could you talk to?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
