Case Study

A rugby club that is a part of the Community Amateur Sports Club scheme decides to increase its membership fees by 25% as it wants to start making a profit. The club operates in a diverse area and a number of the members are from low-income families. Some members are worried they won’t be able to afford the new fees.
  1. As a part of the CASC scheme, can the rugby club increase their fees to start making a profit?
  2. What is the danger of the club increasing its fees?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
