Case Study

Rishi and Holly, two administrative assistants working for a local council, have been asked to provide some leaflets advertising the council’s Health Awareness Week. Rishi prepared a draft with details of times and venues of activities explaining who would benefit from each event with links to health-related websites providing information on cholesterol levels, obesity, heart disease etc.
Holly felt that the level of information was inappropriate for the target audience and provided too much information. Rishi argued that health is important and the general public should be alerted to the dangers of unhealthy life styles.

It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the responses you have to the above scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague or friend and ask them to tell you whether they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your assessor.
