Be able to evaluate the success of a project

Case Study

Alex is the project manager for a UK based events company called Tricolour Events and has just formally closed a project she was working on. The project was to set up a series of cultural events in Singapore that will happen annually. Alex sent a survey to all attendees to gather feedback on the events. She has received the responses and has noticed a large number of attendees were complaining about the security on the door being rude and unhelpful. The security staff were hired from an external security company in Singapore. Alex includes this data in the written evaluation report.
  1. What would you do if the security company asks to see the project evaluation report? Would you censor it?
  2. What do you need to take into consideration when including responses to surveys?
  3. When sending surveys to attendees, what do you need to tell them about confidentiality and data protection?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the responses you have to the above scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague or friend and ask them to tell you whether they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your assessor.
