Do the following exercise until you feel your muscle working. Identify the joint action you are performing and the muscle that you feel getting fatigued. Seated Leg extension - sitting on a chair hold your thigh still and slowly straighten your leg from the knee until leg is horizontal. Pause briefly then lower it back down. Repeat a few times,
  1. What joint action were you performing as you lifted the leg?
  2. What joint action were you performing as you lowered the leg?
  3. What main muscles could you feel working?
  4. If you repeated this five times with a heavy weight, what energy system are you using?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the responses you have to the above scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague or friend and ask them to tell you whether they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your assessor.
