Yasmin, a care worker at the residential care home you manage, has come to you with an idea to make resident records more easily accessible. She suggests that individuals’ records should be kept in their bedrooms so they are more accessible to those who need to access them. She also recommends hanging up a whiteboard in the reception area with notes on the care needs of each resident.

It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the responses you have to the above scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague or friend and ask them to tell you whether they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary.
