Case Study
Leonard, a 17 year old gifted learner who suffers from anxiety, wanted to go to Oxford University when his action plan was written and the goals he was set related to his long term goal of going to a top tier university. It is now looking unlikely that Leonard will get the grades to be accepted at a top tier university; his anxiety worsened whilst taking his AS Level exams and the results were not as expected.
- How could you help Leonard address and overcome this problem?
- What modifications could be made to the action plan?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your assessor.
