‘Regulation 13: Safeguarding service users from abuse and improper treatment’ from the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The intention of this regulation of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014: Regulation 13 is to safeguard people who use services from suffering any form of abuse or improper treatment while receiving care and treatment. Improper treatment includes discrimination or unlawful restraint, which includes inappropriate deprivation of liberty under the terms of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
