The facility you work in comprises of one large indoor space, a small kitchen and toilet facilities.During the summer this worked well as most of the children were happy using the outdoor facilities. It is now getting colder and more and more of the children want to be inside and this is creating conflict between those who want to have a quiet space, those who want to be active and those who want to be able to listen to music.
- Describe the basic requirements each group of children is looking for.
- How might you be able to support the children to adapt their surroundings so that it meets the needs of all the children?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
