- Find and read a copy of ‘Theories of Childhood: An introduction to Dewey, Montessori, Erikson, Piaget and Vygotsky’ (Redleaf Press 2013) by Carol Garhart Mooney.
- Try to obtain and read a copy of ‘Children’s Minds’ by Margaret Donaldson (1986 Harper Collins). During her career she spent time at Piaget’s research institute in Geneva and also worked with Bruner. Although her work is influenced by both theorists, this relatively small book offers some interesting insights into why children may not demonstrate skills and knowledge they have acquired.
