If you work in a baby room, try undertaking the following task:

• Make a picture library of the activities and songs regularly used in your group. Include pictures of personal care as well, so that you can show a baby or young child as well as tell them what it is you are about to do.
• Have a go at using these pictures when with the babies and see if you find it helps with their understanding.
• If the children are able to, let them choose a picture of the song or story they want, or maybe it’s a picture of a drink or activity that they really want.

Record your findings in a reflective account.
