NHS England has produced a ‘Records management code of practice’. It provides guidance on how to keep records, including how long to keep different types of records.
Click to read ‘Data sharing myths busted’ from the ICO. Many organisations have been sharing data successfully, but there seems to be a belief by some in the public and private sectors that data protection law is a barrier to doing this. This belief is unfounded.
Think about how you and your family store confidential records. Is the storage system secure? Who has access to the records? Does everyone who has access to the records understand the importance of confidentiality and the reasons for it? Can you think of any ways to improve the organisation or storage of the information? Share your thoughts with your tutor.
