Extended Learning
‘Evaluating observations’ on the Early Years Education website.
Spend time with an experienced practitioner finding out how they use their observations to inform planning. Watch for ways in which they use their knowledge of their key children and general child development to extend children's play.
Research different methods of identifying and recording 'next steps' for individual children and and groups. How do these methods differ from the method used within your setting?
You can use your observations to influence the continuous provision at your setting.
