Be able to evaluate the outcomes of a Longitudinal Study

Case Study

You have been asked to prepare a short talk for your next staff meeting about evaluation. Your manager has told you in confidence that she is concerned that some staff are unable to be objective in their evaluations and that it is affecting the setting’s ability to identify areas for improvement.
  1. What is the purpose of an evaluation?
  2. How might you explain the benefits to your colleagues of being able to evaluate?
  3. Discuss your thoughts with your line manager, tutor and/or colleagues.
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
