You have been asked to prepare induction information for a new teaching assistant who has just moved into the role. Previously he was working in health and social care as a personal assistant so he has no knowledge of the ICT resources available in schools and colleges. In your learning environment you will use a number of ICT resources. Create a plan of how you would give clear guidance and instructions on the use of ICT resources. You should consider: Which resources are the most important to know about? Which resources are used infrequently, so being shown how to use them is not so urgent? Which policies and procedures he needs to be aware of when starting in the role? It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
