Jamil is usually a happy boy and has never given you any cause for concern, however more recently he has been less co-operative in maths lessons. You want to understand the reason for the change in his attitude and when you talk to him about it he tells you that he doesn’t see the point of doing homework and weekly tests.
- How can you explain to Jamil the purpose of homework and the weekly tests?
- Create a poster that could be displayed in the classroom so that all pupils can be given this information.
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
