- Extend and revise your knowledge of ‘attachment’ by researching the work of John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth (Ainsworth & Bowlby 1991)The research looks at maternal deprivation and the effect of loss and separation on children. It also stresses the need for attachment before the age of three.
- The Wave Trust has used attachment theory and other research to look at social problems faced by society. A report called the WAVE report was written in 2005 by Sir Christopher Ball (the instigator of Sure Start); it looks at the problems that become apparent when attachment does not happen.Click on the link to explore the web site for the Wave Trust to support your understanding of resilience and well-being.
