Case Study

You have three assessors who are all assessing a L3 Apprenticeship (choose a qualification which you are familiar with to make this exercise more relevant to you). One is an experienced assessor who has been with you for two years, another only began assessing when he joined you 6 months ago, and the third is new to you and has not assessed for over a year. Create a chart showing the three assessors, include how you will support them and explain your reasons for your decisions. Also include the potential consequences to the assessor, learner and organisation, of not supporting assessors according to their needs. It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
