This section of the Social Care Institute for Excellence looks at working with communication needs. this section you will meet four people with very different communication needs and discover basic information that should help you to communicate with them.
This article is called ‘Communication is key in health and social care’ from the DJD Social Care Consultants.
Take time to make yourself familiar with various cultures, unique needs, dietary requirements, and special needs for each individual you work with. Make a note of your findings and take some time to research them, using the internet, any books or leaflets at your setting or in the local library, the knowledge of your colleagues and, most importantly, the individuals themselves.
