Understand policies and procedures for promoting children and young people’s positive behaviour

Case Study

There is a child in the class who is displaying challenging behaviour.  Your staff team agree strategies for dealing with the child’s behaviour, but one member of the team always gives in and does not support your agreed strategy.
  1. How will you raise this issue with your line manager?
  2. What will you suggest?
  3. What do you want the outcome to be?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
