• Try over the coming week to notice something about a child who is in your care. It need not be a huge milestone but perhaps they have made a new friend or performed a task particularly well. Before the end of the session, write a sentence about your observations on the ‘Tell Me About’ cards and give them to each parent when they arrive to collect their child.
• Provide feedback at the next staff meeting as to how the communication has been received by parents and if this has had any effects on your relationship with them and their child.
• Consider how you settle children into the setting. Do the children settle quickly or do they seem distressed for a while? Are there changes you could make to your practice that could help your children to settle and integrate more effectively?

• Investigate the work of John Bowlby and his theory on attachment. Consider the arguments for and against aspects of this theory and how the EYFS has been influenced by this.
