Case Study

Following on from delivering your first microteaching session, you have received feedback from your tutor and peers and have also written your own evaluation of practice.
  1. Did you enjoy the experience? What went well?
  2. What would you do differently next time?
  3. Did you get the opportunity to:
  • Adapt your teaching to meet the needs of learners?
  • Use the resources you had prepared?
  • Include a variety of teaching styles to meet the varying learning styles of learners?
  • Meet the special needs of individual learners?
  • Praise and encourage learners?
  • Listen to the contributions of learners?
  • It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague and ask them to tell you if they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your tutor.
