Case Study

You have a group of six friends that want to do small group training. They are beginners to exercise and would prefer to go into an outdoor environment than in the gym as they find that environment intimidating. They all want to improve their overall fitness and look and feel fitter. They are open to using any equipment you find appropriate and valuable.
Using this information, think about:
- What is the best environment?
- Risk assess the environment
- What can you use already in the environment to aid the session?
- What portable equipment can you use?
- How can you motivate and encourage a group of six at the same time?
- If one person is more capable than the other five, how would you handle this situation?
- Think about your best positioning and proving feedback and motivation to a group.
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the responses you have to the above scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague or friend and ask them to tell you whether they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your assessor.
