Case Study

Your organisation is having an open day to attract new starters. One team has asked you to prepare a presentation on the different roles that are available, another team has asked you to organise name tags for all those attending the event, and your manager wants you to prepare a programme of events. Write a plan for how you would complete each of these projects.

• What resources do you need?
• How you can evaluate which resources are most suitable?
• Which of the projects and tasks take priority over the others (think about when each project needs to be delivered)?

It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the responses you have to the above scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague or friend and ask them to tell you whether they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your assessor.
