Be able to lead activities which support the development of speech, language and communication of children / Be able to critically evaluate provision for developing speech, language and communication for children in own setting

Reflect on the indoor and outdoor areas in your setting. Write a reflective account, remembering that there needs to be an evaluation of your practice and how you can develop. Ask yourself:
- Does the area have a positive impact on children’s sense of well being?
- Is the area attractive and does it encourage the children to be inquisitive and try new things?
- Is the area accessible to all children who are or might be at your setting soon?
- Is the area designed in such a way that you can change it if your needs change, if you want to try something new, if a child has an idea?
- Are there things to see, smell, touch, taste and listen to?
