Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet

Case Study

Take a good look at any processed foods you eat. Think about why you buy these products and whether or not they are actually good for you. Examine the food labelling and decide whether it really helps you to make an informed choice and is the labelling sufficiently large, well placed, and clear enough to ensure that you are actually taking notice of it when you select a product.
  1. How would you change food labelling to make it more effective at advising consumers?
It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the responses you have to the above scenario will be judged as right or wrong. Share your scenario with a work colleague or friend and ask them to tell you whether they think you have responded appropriately. Ask them to challenge your response if necessary. You do not need to submit this task for assessment unless asked to do so by your assessor.
