Find a copy of John Beckford’s ‘Quality: A critical introduction’ (3rd Edition 2009, Routledge). Read Part Two ‘The Quality Gurus’ which looks at Philip B. Crosby, W. Edwards Deming, Armand V. Feigenbaum, Karu Ishikawa, Joseph M. Juran, John S. Oakland, Taiichi Ohno. Also, read Chapter 25 ‘The Final Intervention’.
Find a copy of ‘The Essential Deming: Leadership Principles from the Father of Quality’ edited by Joyce Nilsson Orsini (2013 McGraw-Hill Professional). Read: Chapter 2 ‘Quality is made in the boardroom’, Chapter 3 ‘By what method?’, Chapter 4 ‘There is no such thing as instant pudding’, and Chapter 5 ‘A system must be managed’.
NB You should be able to borrow these books from the library or they may be available online.

It is rare that there is just one way to respond to a scenario or situation, so do not consider that the response you have chosen to this scenario will be judged as right or wrong.
